I really struggled to get into this as I found it confusing. However I soon realised that this was due to it being a sequel and I hadn't read the first of the series. Upon realising this I had to put the book down and I will eventually get around to giving it a fair chance by reading the series in order.
Even though I only read 60 or so pages of this book, I do have a few positive things to say for it.
I found the writing style wonderful and almost whimsical.
It has obviously been well researched to be factual about the time it is based upon.
The characters seem to be well rounded and mostly likeable, although I'm sure would relate to them more if I knew their backstory better.
I feel like this is one i will enjoy when I come back to It.
