It did take me a while to get into the story, although a good story I did find it a little confusing but I am glad I persevered. The story of Gil trying to dig into the death of his sister Clare is full of mystery and corruption and makes for a great tale but there was a lot of characters to remember. I tended to skirt over a lot of people mentioned as I forgot who was who a lot but it did fall into place eventually. There was also a lot of talk of pensions and political language that also went over my head a little but don't let that put you off.
The story is fast paced when needed and slow in others and it did work as a whole. It was written well and the idea for the story worked well, although it did take a lot of concentration to remember who everyone was. Once I got into the story I finished it quickly to see the outcome. I would say after reading it and the web of characters and plot line, the ending was a little disappointing. All in all good book and well written.
