This book for me, started off a bit slow. However, it certainly started to gather pace and once it got into the main elements of the story I was hooked. Whilst this is set in 1997 - will Labour win the general election, there were elements that appear to ring true for the political horizon now.

It was so intriguing to have a view of the inside of the newspaper world back then and the way they could manipulate the reader and politicians alike.

The main character, Gil isn't someone you're going to like easily but you certainly feel for him and then when his sister dies a whole different reason to investigate opens up.

There are so many twists and turns in this novel, and a few dead end turns along the wasy.

I was thoroughly hooked once it got started but sadly, you are left feeling this could really happen in real life. Definitely highly recommended reading.
