I was not really sure what to expect as I would usually stay clear of books set around politics but I was surprised how much I actually enjoyed this. A well thought through thriller with believable characters who work either side on an election campaign and report around it.

The main story focuses on the protagonist Gil Peck who is trying to solve the murder of his sister Clare who works at the treasury and dies in suspicious circumstances when she is knocked off her bicycle by a van when not wearing a helmet which went missing prior to her leaving the office. Clare has discovered that the newspapers are covering up a story which could indirectly affect the outcome of the election. Gil a journalist risks his career and reputation trying to find out what his estranged sister knew and who and why she was killed.

Throughout the book, corruption, conspiracy and bribery are prevalent and the twist at the end was unexpected.

If you like thrillers this is worth a read.
