I'm usually put off reading books like this one. I often find the covers a bit twee and I don't tend to like the subject matter but I was surprised by this first look. An exercise in not judging a book by it's cover!
I was instantly drawn into the story of the young girl struggling through the wintry countryside and the people who help her. I wanted to read on and find out where she has come from and what would happen to her and her baby. The story was very engaging. I always love a Christmas setting too.
