I enjoyed reading the beginning of this book. I am curious as to why Kathleen recognised the place and why she thought it was home?
We are given snippets of information, such as the fact she is a servant, is running away, as is pregnant, which makes you want to read further.
So far I found the characters likeable and that always helps to get into the story.
