A lovely heart warming read
Set in the early 1900’s, a young heavily pregnant Kathleen is walking half frozen in a storm when she stumbles upon Home Farm.
She is taken in by the lovely Jessie and her 2 sons Danny and Sam. Upon learning of her condition, Jessie adopts Kathleen into the family and falls in love. But the path of love never does run smooth...
I found this book a lovely little read especially in the approach to winter. Whilst not a particularly ‘christmassy’ book as such, this story depicts the hardship of life back then, and in the oncoming WW1 and how hard women had it as well as the men.
The book was well researched in its customs and events that went on during this time, and it flowed easily.
