Disappointingly Stereotypical

At first I thought this book had promise, the mystery of Kathleen's past and how this could possibly affect her and her baby's future, but then the story began to progress along the most basic and stereotypical plot line possible. I found myself infuriated by how both major and minor issues were resolved with the space of a simple conversation written in such a basic form it felt almost childlike. I anticipated depth of character but this extended to only a love triangle between the brothers alongside general narrative development only occurring through marriages or pregnancies. The Winter Baby was frustratingly simple with the desire to read on only created by the need to know if it really would end in the most obvious way, or if, as a reader, we could hope for the saving grace of a satisfying twist. Unfortunately not.
