The intro is great from the Author explaining why she wrote this story. It is set in winter and makes you feel cold just reading it, this is why you need to be snuggled down by the fire when reading this.
Wandering through the snow, lost, cold and hungry a woman is walking, she is escaping from someone but why? I built up a character of the woman quite quickly now I want to know her story, what has happened to her, what is she escaping from? will she be ok in the end?
I like how the author builds up a picture quickly, you can imagine the snow falling heavily, the woman's footprints disappearing as soon as the snow hits the ground, how a kindly woman takes her in and bathes her, she is going to have some rest at last, but what next?
