What a joyful, thought-provoking story this promises to be!
As a reader I'm fascinated by words, their meanings and how they evolve so a book which, by the end of its first page in Chapter1 contains the following interchange:
“No. But let me finish, it’s important. If humans stop reading us, we’ll be
forgotten. Words will disappear, and our world will cease to exist.”
“Dad, no one seriously believes that words need humans. You’re the only
one who thinks that. Have you ever heard of a word just disappearing off
the face of the earth? ..."
had me hooked! By the end of the 'First Look' I'd already fallen in love with the Word and his friend Deaf and I absolutely have to know more about their journey to find meaning. It's already clear that, as a reader, I'll be taken on a fascinating and magical journey - I can barely wait to make a start on it!
I loved the cover and was delighted to discover the illustrations within the story.
