I decided to make this little book my last read of 2020 and it looked quick and fun, and that is exactly what it was! It is based in the world of words as living beings, where syllables are their limbs and wordlets are the words they speak. The book follows the story of The Word, a word which has forgotten its meaning after being spoken and must go on a journey to discover their meaning again.
Initially, I found the concept a little confusing to follow, however once you push through you find yourself immersed in the world of words. I was so impressed to learn that this book is a translation; the play on words and use of very English phrases such as 'rhyme and reason' made it hard to believe that the original was not in English! I also loved how beautifully designed and illustrated this book is, you can tell that the team which created it put a lot of love into their work. All in all, a lovely little read!
