I loved this book. It was made for a magical active imagination and really could inspire a love of reading if you don’t have it already. This was clearly a labour of love by the author. We are introduced to the word in the beginning and she very quickly forgets who she is. She visits Deaf and gets spoken which is a terrifying experience for her and causes her to take a journey of self discovery so she can find her story again. I loved the references to Alice in Wonderland and Watership Down these were clever. Rhyme and Reason were interesting subplots as was the Wordsmith. I could really feel as the book went on like I was there watching the word tell the story. I could genuinely really imagine the river of words and the city of Langwich as well as the linguistic games. I loved the ending of the story which was insanely clever and there were many lessons throughout. A fabulous read highly recommended.
