It's Words
The Word Trove written by Elias Vorphl translated by Rory Fursland and illustrated by Julia Stolba ia really an unusual work.
I found it was extremely different from anything else I had ever read before, maybe because it has lost something in the translation, I am not at all sure on that.
The illustrations that are taken from pen and ink drawings are excellent and do add that something a little bit extra to the story.
The cover is pleasing to the eye and the book itself is in blue with a gold candle on the front which is especially eye catching.
The book also has attatched a gold ribbon book mark that really is very helpful and does add a style to the overall package.
I will say that the magic of the world of language has given me a greater understanding of something that everyone takes for granted.
Having now read this book I feel that its has a limited amount of readers who would truely appreciate it.
