The Word Trove is a delightful short story. Before even beginning to read the book, I was charmed by the gorgeous cover - such a beautiful yet simple illustration. It also contains a ribbon for marking your place as you read which is lovely! There are little illustrations throughout the book which, for me, really enhanced my enjoyment as I read. The Word Trove is described as a fantasy tale and I found all these little details added to the magic of the story. It took me a few pages to get used to the writing style and understand the world which was being described. I found the concept to be very clever and a nice change from other books. The Word Trove is like a fairytale but for older readers. It reminded me of childhood stories and the enjoyment of leaving normal life and entering into a magical land where anything could happen. I recommend this as a nice break from reality!
