I didn't know what to expect from this as I couldn't find much info online and the blurb just hinted and let drop that the whole thing would be a magical journey and wow was it.
I hadn't read a book like this before.
It was so clever.
The whole premise of the story was the journey of a word.
He set on a quest to find his own meaning.
I suppose he was looking for an identity, the key to who he was and his essence.
The word meets some wonderful and charming characters as he journeys along who help him to make sense of his reason for being.
This whole tale was charming and whimsical and very skillfully woven, a total literary fairytale, full of fun, witticisms, puns and the word play was ingenious and really helped the story along.
Even though I have now read it I still find the whole concept very hard to describe and I think is going to be one of those things people either get or they don't so will divide readers into love / hate categories and that's not a bad thing as any emotional response to a book is good.
The novel is just something you have to discover and read for yourself and take out of it what you will.
Utterly charming.
