Oh dear, this was not my cup of tea at all!
Or reading the first few pages of this I felt sure that I would absolutely love this book but I'm afraid it was not for me.
The concept was fabulous and something I've not seen done before. I was fully on board with the metaphors and world building but a lot of the time I just didn't get it!
Despite being a short book I found this a bit of a slog to get through and I really don't think it's anything to do with the author's work, it's definitely more about my reading tastes. This was just a little bit too out there for me. If you like Terry Pratchett books and other heavily built fantasy worlds you are going to love this.
It's a beautiful looking book, it feels fabulous in your hand, the illustrations are lovely and there is a ribbon book mark and pretty naked hardback under the slip cover.
