I liked the introduction to the two main characters and as a young person going through adulthood could relate to different parts of each character. However, the extract did contain a little bit too much explanation of mundane life for me. I understand that this is to introduce the characters fully but wished it could be done slightly differently, so I could get to the adventure. I enjoyed reading the first extract. This in combination with the blurb hint at a darkness to come or at least a certain explanation as to why these two women are "running away". This is what I would be reading the book for.
