Well at least the author makes no bones about the fact that this is a complete rip-off of Thelma and Louise. Or at least that is the way it appears from the first few pages. The prologue sees Thea and Denise at the end of the first week of their road trip. Book then returns to a pen portrait of their lives.

Denise, with much going for her including, apparently, a happy marriage is nevertheless beset by family problems and juggling work responsibilities. Thea has a dubious relationship with her daughter and a possible ‘nice’ new man in her life but a trauma in her past. ..I tried to get interested in them, really I did but the prose was curiously uninvolving. I’d pick it up if it was put in front of me but I wouldn’t go out of my way.
