I'm a little puzzled why this book was written. It appears to be a version of Thelma and Louise, but not as good. Even the cover - while inviting - looks as though it is taken from the film. The book title itself has (deliberate?) echoes of the brilliant film.
I may be doing the book an injustice, but the opening chapters did nothing to make me change my initial opinion, so this one is not for me.
I'm not normally one to put a film above a book, but i do think if you want an interesting and original female road movie, watch Thelma & Louise instead.
