They connect at a time of their lives where they are both missing something. I love how the book shows it's never too late to do something for the first time. The book displays how you can do anything you set your mind to at any age and it might just end up being the best thing you ever do. I loved seeing Thea and Denise's friendship develop as their road trip went on and their trust in each other built. The trip helps Thea and Denise put themselves first for once and equally shows the importance of this sentiment to the reader. A lovely story full of highs and lows and a gripping read overall.
