Wow - I absolutely loved this! I'm actually feeling sad today that I've finished it. I found it fun, emotional, inspiring and perfect for women of a certain age - precisely my age; 49! Many of the issues felt very real and I welcomed that. I will be recommending it far and wide and lending out my copy to all my friends (only lending it though - it's a book I want to hang on to and probably read again). I actually wish I'd saved it for my summer holiday - it would be a perfect beach read.
The characters Thea and Denise are great and and I loved reading about their friendship. I actually think my favourite character though, was Denise's Mum Lillian. She was just lovely and I was touched how at the end the author dedicated to this character to her own Mum and Mum-in-law. Northumberland is one of my favourite places, so I liked how this part of the book was set in Bamburgh. The epilogue at the end was a nice finish. It felt complete and tied the story up well.
