two woman meet like its fate. one has a failed marriage and daughter who seems to prefer being at her dads house with her step mum and younger siblings. the other is married and lives with her husband and two older boys. they meet at a dinner party to do with work. they then realise she actually lives across the road from theas ex husband. they become quite good friends and set off for the weekend to stay at a hotel. one thing leads to another and thea decides there is no point going home as her daughter has gone to live with her dad. denise is meant to go home but keeps staying as she realises life at home is boring and everyone takes her for granted. they stay really good friends even though u their lives are totally different. its a story of how to completely different people can have a very string bond and everything life throws at them they will always have eachother
