I have just finished Thea and Denise, the latest book by Caroline Bond and I absolutely loved it. An English based take on Thelma and Louise from the 1990’s film (goodness, time flies) the theme is as relevant and relatable today as it was back then. It tells the story of Thea and Denise, middle aged women who meet by chance and take an unplanned road trip together. It is about friendship, family, commitments, busy modern lives, relationships between spouses, children, in laws and parents. Caroline Bond always has an easy style of writing and a way of drawing the reader into the characters and storyline. I found that once I had started I did not want to put the book down, always a good sign.
I love the cover chosen for the book. A brilliant choice of scene and colours to take us into the summer months. A great road trip and holiday read. Just fabulous!
