This book is a new take on the Thelma & Louise type story where the the two main characters both want to escape for different reasons. Though different they form a bond that sees them through a whirlwind adventure and beyond. I really enjoyed how different both of the characters were and how they interacted. I found myself gripped to see what their next adventure would be and whether they would continue on or turn back.
As the story unfolds and you learn more about the characters, the challenges and their desire for change you can't help but feel part of the story.
I loved the variety of stops that they made on their trip and the characters that played smaller but important roles.
To me this book demonstrates that despite your age you can still seek adventure, new friendships and the chance at a different type of life. It is about challenges and challenging to become the best version of yourself and how sometimes we all need a little help from our best friend.
