Thea and Denise is a book about female friendship and shows just how important it is.

The fact both women are middle aged and dealing with their own fair share of problems, adds a level of vulnerability to both characters (even the more confident Thea).

Comparisons to the film Thelma and Louise have been made by quite a few others, and the author mentions herself that she sees her book as British version - having gained inspiration from her favourite film.

I havent actually ever watched Thelma & Louise, so can't compare the two, other than them both being about 2 women on a road trip. But the book kept me entertained!

This was a fairly quick read, nice short chapters featuring both women's narrative. I felt as though I got to know both of them and by the end was quite invested in what was going to happen next.

Would make a good summer holiday read.
