This was an uplifting read that highlighted both the strength and the power of true friendship; the importance of having someone in your life that you can completely rely on.

Quite out of character and on a bit of a whim to temporarily escape her mundane life, Denise agrees to join Thea on a road trip. These two middle-aged women barely know each other when they set off on their adventure together. They are like chalk and cheese and as such, compliment each other well. Little by little layers of their lives lived are peeled back and they both find that once they are ready to open up, problems shared really do become problems halved.

I was pleased that the author did not go down the cliché route, so the story line remained fresh and interesting throughout. Both Denise and Thea triumphed over the deamons. But this could not have been achieved without the strength they found in each other.
