Thorn is a wonderfully written retelling of a German folklore story known as The Goose Girl. It’s a fairytale that I won’t soon forget. It tackles some heavy topics head on, compassionately and with heart.
It follows a young princess called Alyrra, who is betrayed by another and then must decide what fate she is to choose for herself. However, whatever choice she decides on could impact the lives of others. She must make her choice wisely. An impossible task she determines!
This story is about overcoming betrayals, growing friendships, losses and justice. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys YA fantasy, especially if you love fairytale retellings.
