Honestly, this book was absolutely phenomenal and words alone can’t express how much i truly loved it. Whilst the beginning was slightly slow (which to be fair is how most fantasy books begin considering they need to set up the world building and the characters), from the middle onwards it completely had me hooked.
Whilst it’s a coming of age story, which I don’t typically like mostly because of how overdone they are, this was a refreshing and unique spin on that, considering it was about the important of trust and justice and the consequences of betrayal.
The main character Alyrra was so beautifully written and developed that i couldn’t help but love her right from the beginning of the book. I also adored Alyrra and Kestrin’s relationship, especially as they took their own time for their relationship to grow and develop.
Overall i 100% recommend!
