This book was incredibly fun to read!
For those who know their fairy tales, this is a reworking of the Goose Girl story, despite not knowing this tale, I felt it worked perfectly well without any prior knowledge.
The author paints the characters very well, often when reading book characters can be very 2d, meaning their personality is flat. But within this book the characters have great depth and personalities, they have strengths and weaknesses and good and bad aspects to their character which makes them so much more real.
The villains seem at first glance to be simplistically cruel and evil, but they all have enough backstory to make them credible, almost creating a sense of sympathy for the reader.
The book contains an abundance of magic and fantasy elements, but they are written in very well, making the magic seem a normal part of their lives.
The book had a fast pace and wonderful world building and I loved every minute of it.
I highly recommend picking this up to anyone who reads this!
