I began this read in a readathon I was participating in. I had read a mere twenty pages when I out it down as I had other things to do and couldn't pick it up for another 3 days due to having zero motivation. But once I had picked it up again I simply could not put it down.
Written exceptionally well reading Alyrra's story has become one of my favourites up there with Uprooted by Naomi Novik and Peter. V. Brett's stories.
I adore Alyrra and Falada and this exotic tale of a goose girl and horse. The story of sorcery and kingdoms entranced me to no end. I wish I could have fallen into the world myself.
The cover is beautiful also and is what drew me to it to begin with. I cannot wait for what more Intisar Khanani writes in the future.
