I was initially drawn to this book by the cover. It is breath taking with simplistic beauty.
The goose girl is a fairy tale that is not too familiar to myself so although this was a retelling it felt like a completely original story as I had no prior knowledge going in before reading “Thorn”
I feel that it was really intriguing to get to know the internal politics inside a castle and kingdom from the servants side as I find most commonly when reading fantasy books that when taking place in castles we normally get a perspective or the royal side so seeing it from the servant side was very refreshing.
The only problem I had with this book was the pacing. I just found the first half of this book was way to slow for my personal tastes.
