I've read this book very quickly and I have to say it was a very good start. Building up a history of the character and the abuse she must have suffered over the years through her family and the court. Her distrust in others underlined with a faint hope so something different and kind the king and his people may be. By a whisper of a conversation or a hint of kindness through a small action. When she enters the new land as a new person you see her flourish and strive to make the most of her situation. When she bonds with the horse it's almost like shes speaking to her conscious. She knows what she must do but struggles with her own happiness and doing the right thing for the people. Eventually she learns to trust herself and her instincts.
It's very well written and quite a page Turner. It really paints the picture of the castle and the servants and royalty inside. Then moves on to paint this new kingdom and it's people and struggles!. The imagine of a girl lost and desperate for something different and a chance of something new. A must read!
