The beautiful cover and blurb really reeled me in to begin with and I love how the First Look really emphasises on the protagonist's thoughts which allows the reader to both relate and understand the character with this first person point of view. My first impression was that Alyrra is not a perfect being nor is she particularly confident in herself which allows plenty of room for development into hopefully an incredibly strong woman. Showcasing vulnerability and insecurities in her character allows the reader to acknowledge the difficult position she is in despite her title as a 'princess'. The choice of vocabulary should also be applauded considering how it allows the reader to really understand the era and atmosphere that Alyrra has grown up in.
I would love to continue to read this book just to be able to see what kind of woman Alyrra grows up to be. This seems to be an amazing and unique outlook on a woman who is trying to reach her greatest potential.
