I quickly loved Alyrra and her peaceful and contented personality, how she isn’t afraid of hardworking and she’s so loyal and endlessly kind. I also loved that it was in first person, since that is what I usually prefer in books. It is an amazing goose-girl retelling. I was addicted the moment I saw the cover. That saying where people say “don’t judge a book by its cover.” Completely wrong. I judged this book by its cover. While it looked interesting, I was iffy about it. I tried it anyway, because I was in desperate need to read some more books. Her writing style is TO DIE FOR. She had a way with words that leaves you like damn, why can’t u write like that? The book has kings and queens, which I’m an absolute sucker for, and the prince-king asks for her hand and marriage. SUCKER SUCKER SUCKER. I love that trope, and will never get sick of it. Get this book!!!
