Alyrra is a princess of a very small kingdom. Her family is very cruel to her and when she has a chance to marry a prince from a different kingdom she takes it, only to be able to get away from her family. But before she even gets a chance to meet her new fiance, a sorceress performs a spell which causes her to change bodies with a sworn enemy that has joined her on her travel to her new home. So instead of being the princess, she ends up being a goose girl, a life she would choose before that of a princess. But when the prince is in danger, she has to make a tough decision. Will she make the right one?

When I read the first look, I knew right away that the writing style matches my taste and I was intrigued to read more. But I was surprised at how much I loved this book! I thought Alyrra was an amazing character. Very brave and so kind, especially considering how she has been treated in her life.

The plot was very good as well as it kept me interested throughout the book and kept making me want to find out what happens next. I had a hard time putting this book down and read it pretty fast. I loved that there were moments where I thought things would go one way but ended up going a completely different way. It was a hard story to predict and that is difficult to do as I read a lot of fantasy and there are not many things I haven't seen done yet. So very good job!

Kestrin was a great character as well and he surprised me a lot. I read him a lot like Alyrra did but that could be my own suspicious nature. But I think Falada was my favourite character through the book because I felt like he was the first one to ever really protected Alyrra without any kind of personal gain.

I look forward to reading more by this author.
