Here is my impression of the first look of Thorn:

Princess Allyra is a young woman who does not consider herself more important than the others despite her title. A trait that we find rather often in young adult fictions with a royalty, but that I like just as much. I also love characters who don't conform to what their society expects of them. In view of her family, Allyra could have been cruel, violent and heartless, but on the contrary she seems compassionate and kind. I am however certain that over the course of the chapters we will discover how strong and courageous she is.

As for the king and prince she is to marry, I'm still mixed, as is our protagonist. There are still too many mysteries revolving around them, but I hope they are good.

The writing is a bit complicated for me (I speak French), but it's manageable. The world building is not very developed in the first few pages, but I am confident that it will improve. What I look forward to seeing again and what I want to learn more about is The Wind. It's magic and I love it.
