This is the first D.B. Thorne novel I have read, and have to say I found it an enjoyable experience. It's not the typical book I would usually go for, but found it quick to get into with engaging characters. The story ticked along at just the right pace, with just the right amount of peril and humour throughout - the daughters blog entries are especially good as the paranoia sets in. Okay, some parts of the story are a little far fetched and it doesn't take a genius to work out in what direction things are heading, but it never feels too silly or forced. It would have been very easy for the story to lose it's path and finish predictably, however I found the final few chapters extremely satisfying, and it has left me wanting to check out other novels by this author. All in all a good read that I can recommend to others!
