I really loved the beginning of the book. It dove right into the story and we got to also hear Sophie's side of the story throughout the book, as well as Fortune's. Sophie's side of the story was completely compelling. It was so gripping to read how her life was slowly spiralling due to unknown troll.
Fortune's side was good in parts but other parts I was a little disappointed. It read as if his personality kept switching back and forth between empathy and selfishness throughout the book. I kinda felt that he wasn't looking for his daughter out of love, but more out of guilt and because of selfish reasons. He as a character didn't interest me at all.

The storyline was great, however I felt the ending let it down as it wasn't what I was expecting because it was very short and sweet. I was expecting an emotional ending but it failed in my opinion.

A good book but the end just disappointed me.
