Despite me not being the target audience, I really enjoy some YA books. I have read many that have a well written plot, often thought provoking, or funny or moving, sometimes all three. Unfortunately, the opening chapters of this books does not appear to have any of these. The characters seem to be stereotypes, and the story, just the same old same old. It is possible for girls to have fun and have a life without there being a good looking guy in the centre of it. I don't think this would appeal to me, but I will give anything a go. I don't mind being proved wrong. To pick up what others have said, the cover does suggest a book for a much younger reader than it actually is.
