Ultimately this extract was fun to read. I enjoyed it, the characters felt like a cross between Gossip girl and Riverdale with the parties, and escapades being shared via social media being the worst of their worries, not to mention the past/ongoing plotline around the local evil businessman and kidnapped family members. It's a story that I'd want to read more of and would be an ideal holiday read or escape from the world. Not exactly highbrow or cultured but definitely entertaining.
