Having never read any of the previous books, it took me a considerable amount of time to catch up with what with going on. Therefore, I really struggled to understand and sit back to enjoy the book. That being said if you have read the previous I bet the story is really great as when I finally worked out who was who I found it really exciting.
The story was very detailed and there were so many different plots to follow. Although it did make it hard to follow at times, it was interesting and was very well written. The variety of themes make it enjoyable for a variety of different people.
It has made me think that going back to read previous books may be helpful and have changed my view.
