This book sucked me in from the first page of the first impression. Imagining the heat, noise and smells of some exotic, far off foreign country.
The language is very evocative and paints a bright and colourful image... and then you find out it's Cardiff a city I know (or thought I knew!) well. A place of rain and cold, grey days and not one I would associate with the opening pages of this book.
I like how you're plunged straight into the story, sadly one that is becoming increasingly common in today's world. I love gritty stories and would love to find out what happens. It sounds like a real page turner and I like the fact that it's set in a city I know. Definitely something I would pick up and read.
