Will MacEeady is an intuitive but maverick policeman whose home life is falling apart. He is having an extra marital affair with a journalist. His father and brother are aggressive and dangerous villains operating on the other side of the law. This sounds like the ingredients of so many other police crime stories but this was different. It is well written by an ex-policeman and the plot was totally believable.
In Cardiff, two bombs explode in public places and a young woman is stabbed behind the station. Will's recent history means that he is given the lower priority stabbing to investigate rather than the higher profile racial terrorist attacks. However, Will believes they may be linked.
Really enjoyed this totally credible story however I wish I'd read the first book in the series (Ash and Bones) first as there were many references to Will's previous case which obviously influenced his current relationships with colleagues, family and friends.
