This is the first novel I have read by Mike Thomas.
The book is gripping from start to finish - the book opens with a bomb going off in a busy souk - now by the opening many would believe that the setting for the novel is in the middle east however it's Cardiff.
DC MacReady is investigating the bombing and when he thinks the situation couldn't get any worse, more bombs are detonated in public places including religious building which then turns the motive for the attacks being racial.
There is also a young woman's murder to look into which somehow connects to the bombings, they just need to find the link.
The book is gripping throughout and although there are different crime scenes everything is easy to follow.
