This book sounds great with a likeable, relatable main character. It sounds to be full of humour, emotion and hope. I like the authors it's compared to and I've already read great things about it. Not sure about the cover. It doesn't particularly stand out and maybe it's just me, but it took me ages to work out that the image is two seahorses!
