Within the first couple of pages I knew Effie was going to be my type of character: she loves to read, wants to write and is unimpressed with hipster coffee shops. Her personality comes across well in the narrative and there are the beginnings of a good supporting cast. I’m looking forward to reading more and what I suspect with be an eventful wedding for ‘best friend’ Kate.
