I immediately fell in love with the cover as it's so simplistic yet beautiful. I love the calligraphy style writing and subtle foreshadowing with the seahorses forming a love heart. This would probably be the first kind of book I'd reach for in a book store.
I'm a huge fan of chick lit/romance stories and this seems to be one of those that are easy to read. I can imagine myself picking this up to chase away boredom. Effie comes across as a very likeable character who many of us can relate to with our own failures. The writing draws me in from the start with humour and understanding.
The extract was absorbing, I couldn't believe when I'd already reached the end! Cannot wait to see where Effie's story goes.
