I absolutely loved this! The story follows the life of Effie, she still lives with her parents, is very unlucky in most aspects of her life, dreams of being a writer, and has quite a bad drinking problem. I don't think Effie was supposed to be likeable but I completely adored her and found her extremely relatable.

When Effie meets Theo, she pushes him away to begin with because she wants to protect herself from being hurt again, but as time goes on he grows on her and she starts to fall for him. Theo is attractive, kind and rich, and he seems perfect to start with, but he is hiding things about his past from Effie which will have a huge impact on both of them.

This book spoke about a lot of important topics such as illness, homelessness and alcoholism, but somehow still managed to be hilarious! One of the best books I've read this year.
