I'm not going to lie, but I did think this book would follow the typical conventions of a romance story. But I was proven wrong, as the book was much more than that.
It follows Effie's personal journey of how she became a person who eventually loved herself and lived life without grudges.
Initially the main character Effie was quite annoying, the constant complaining and snarky remarks. But the author really did create an amazing character development!
Theo's character was quite refreshing too, despite some moments when he would be closed off from Effie. But again, the author shows how Theo came over his own flaw too.
I would seriously recommend this book to anyone who want a refreshing novel, that does not follow the typical cliches.
