Effie is a character that I didn't always like, but could mostly relate to! A 29 year old who feels like shes not good enough and who subsequently acts really badly towards her love interest while still living at home.
Although i didnt think the plot of this book was the strongest, there were a few plot points that I thought were just too convenient, this is a really strong debut novel. Hannah Sunderlands writing style is easy going and actually made me laugh out loud a number of times and so she is an author I will be looking out for in the future.
Read this if you are fans of Beth O'leary, Holly Bourne, Sophie Kinsella and Jenny Colgan, that kind of easy going romance with a more hard hitting undertone
